I have no idea who Nancyelle is, but Linda’s site is boss. And this is one of the best crust recipes ever, hands down. Don’t let people try to fool you with their cauliflower this and zucchini that. If you’re worried about whether eating a gigantic platter of cheese is good for you… yes, it is.
This is a recipe for tomato sauce originally posted on Smitten Kitten. I haven’t made it yet, but I will, because butter. Also, a friend has already tried it and said lots of words about how great it is. And it’s being passed around Facebook, which we all know means it’s legit.
When you click on it, you will see a picture of some sauce on some pasta. But you don’t have to put it on pasta! I’m sure you can imagine your own low-carb uses for a delicious tomato sauce, but here are some applications anyway:
on eggs (because ketchup is gross, and full of sugar).
on low-carb pizza with a crust made of cauliflower, zucchini, or chicken breast, or cheese.
drizzled over chicken, under a layer of melted cheese.
enveloping shiritaki noodles.
Here is a secret: this salad is the only thing that matters. THE ONLY THING. Even if you don’t like or don’t have some of the veggies she lists, do this for the dressing alone. I did it with chunky Skippy for an extra dose of peanutty zazz. But I think next time I buy vegetables I might try to achieve all of the salad elemnets, just because the photos look so amazing and a rainbow salad would make me so happy.
Another secret: this girl’s blog is amazing and if you do not like it you’re just fooling yourself.
